Mission Statement
The Connecticut Greater Hartford Lyme Disease Support and Action Group is for victims of Lyme disease and their
family members to gain support and information regarding the tick borne illness; as well as to form action groups
designed at informing elected officials about the need for better access to treatment of chronic and long term
cases.
We believe Lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses are the state of Connecticut's greatest health threat. We
need to protect ourselves and our families, and when infected we need to have access to competent Lyme literate
MD's.
Lyme disease is a very mysterious illness. It can mimic a hundred other maladies, often give false negative results
on blood tests, it evades standard antibiotic dosage, it changes its form and becomes dormant only to rise again,
and has the medical community polarized on how to treat the disease. The fact is, there are a great deal of very
sick people out there who need immediate support, and want to be assured that physicians in this state are aware
of proper clinical diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease.
Although it is said that a prophet is not heard in his own land, The Greater Hartford Lyme Disease Support and
Action Group Members plan to be more than a voice crying out in the wilderness.
